06 · Inquiries and pickup

Tell us the jar and the count. We reply with a confirmed price.

Ask for plum lekvar, apricot lekvar, any of the jams and fruit butters, or a bakery tub. We check the pantry, confirm the price and arrange pickup at our Austin kitchen or local delivery. Nothing is paid on this site.

Pickup is by arrangement only. Do not just turn up: if the pans are on, nobody can leave them to find your bag. We agree a time when we confirm the order.

Send an inquiry

Leave a phone or an email. One is enough.

Sizes: 8 oz, 16 oz, 2 lb tub, 5 lb pail. Say if you want a reduced-sugar 1:6 batch.

An inquiry is not an order and costs nothing. We confirm the price by phone or email before anything is made.

After you send it · Four steps

From inquiry to a paper bag on the counter.

  1. We read it

The person on jars and phone reads every inquiry. If you left only a phone number, expect a call or a text from +1 (971) 555-5462.

  2. We check the pantry

Jars on the shelf go out quickly. If a product is between batches, we tell you when the next cook is. Plum lekvar takes about nine hours, so it is never same-day.

  3. We confirm the price

You get a per-jar and an order figure in USD, plus delivery if you asked for it. The estimator gives you a band beforehand; this is the real number.

  4. Pickup or delivery

Pickup at 68 Oak Lane at an agreed time, free. Austin local delivery is a flat $8 per order. We do not ship outside Texas.

Before you ask · Short answers

The questions that come in most weeks.

Can I pay on the website?

No. There is no cart and no checkout. We settle payment with you directly once the order is confirmed, at handover.

Do you ship to Dallas, Houston or out of state?

We do not ship across state lines at all. For the rest of Texas, ask; most people outside Austin arrange a pickup when they are in town.

I run a bakery. Is this the right form?

Yes. Pick "Tubs or pails" and tell us how many kolaches you bake a week. A 2 lb tub fills roughly 60 kolaches, so we can work back to tubs from there. Fill rates and the bake test are on the for bakers page.

Can you make it with less sugar?

The standard ratio is about one part sugar to four parts fruit. A reduced-sugar batch at 1:6 is possible and adds $1 per 8 oz equivalent, because it cooks longer to reach the same set. Sugar-free we do not make; without sugar it will not keep.

Is the peach available now?

Only June to August, while Hill Country peaches last. Outside that window, send an inquiry anyway and we will put your name down for the first batch. See Hill Country peach preserves.
